Pass the Hat
Yes. The answer to your question is “yes.” Pursuing federal civil rights litigation is expensive. First, there are court filing fees at several hundred dollars each. Second, there is use of a document submission support vendor. I use Counsel Press for our Second Circuit filings and our U.S. Supreme Court filings. The team for each court is headed by attorneys, who coordinate paralegals. Their job is final production of the PDF for electronic filing to meet local court rules, plus print production of hard copies to the courthouse and opposing counsel, plus word count certifications, plus affidavits of service. Each paper I write that gets filed involves my drafting and their finished product.
We are now trying to raise the estimated $2,000 for the filing anticipated week of May 21, 2024 as part of our SCOTUS Petition for Cert.
Thank you for your willingness to pitch in to help with these hard expenses.
Our motto is “small, but mighty.” Thanks for being a part of this effort.
You are also welcomed to send a check or money order to my law office address, listed on the contact page.
100% of your contribution will be directly applied to expenses. It is not tax deductible. No 501(c)(3) is involved as a party or representing a party to this case.
PLEASE NOTE: ALL CHARGES THROUGH THIS WEBSITE WILL APPEAR ON YOUR CREDIT CARD BILL AS “Downton Antiques, LLC,” which is Paloma’s shop that handles all shipping and handling of her print materials. No administrative or other fees are charged for this service.
