NSSF email 08.04.2023

Update note 09.09.2023: I would consider this e-mail out-dated on several items, at this point, basis additional writings from NYSP and the FBI, as well as the status of the “dashboard” for dealers. It remains here for research purposes.

This 2-page e-mail from the NSSF apparently went into circulation on or about 08.04.2023. It contains a list of touch points concerning the conversion to a NY-POC state, the launch of the NYSP background check system, the launch of the new NYSP ammunition background check, and more. Some items in this e-mail I have independently verified through at least two unrelated sources. Much remains to be seen.

To date of posting this (August 11, 2023), I am unaware of anyone outside the NSSF who was given notice of the referenced “call” or given an opportunity to dial in. To date, there is nothing further posted to the NSSF (non-member) or to the NYSP websites on point.
